What sets Dry Comal Creek Vineyards apart is their unique location in New Braunfels, TX and not in the more populus wine country areas near Johnson City and Fredericksburg.

My Wine Pick

For those looking to experience the best of what Dry Comal Creek Vineyards has to offer, I highly recommend their 2021 Montepulciano (but it is member only wine). so, I will add the 2020 Aglianico (which by the way, was on special for $20).

History and Facility

Delving into the history of Dry Comal Creek Vineyards unveils a story rooted in passion and perseverance. Founded in 1998 by Franklin and Bonnie Houser, this family-owned winery has grown from humble beginnings to become a beloved destination for wine enthusiasts across Texas. Their charming facilities offer a picturesque backdrop for wine tastings, tours, and special events, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of Texas wine country.

I particularly loved the vineyards surrounding the winery with the grape vines sporting Black Spanish grapes encapsulating the tasting area. I enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the winery. The inside seating is not very large, but comfortable and inviting. The outdoor areas offer a covered patio with normal tables and wine barrel tables for two, as well as seating in the grass among the trees.
