The Winery

At only about one year old, this winery can be described in one word: beautiful. From the moment you come into the parking lot, it exudes elegance. The inside gives off that same vibe. The tasting room is a gorgeous venue with lots of windows and a very classy décor. We had tastings on the red and the white sides. We also had a very nice charcuterie board that complimented the wine very well. I should also note that the water they bring you is so refreshing. I can’t explain that! Adelphos’ grapes are from the area (Brownfield area) which is to be expected.

The Wines

After tasting the red and the white flights, I will say they wines will mostly fall in the range of “good”, and you couldn’t go wrong ordering any of them. However, the Sauvignon Blanc was outstanding, and we came away with several bottles of it. I enjoyed all the reds, but none of them were so good that I bought one. I was tempted to buy the Reserve Tempranillo but just couldn’t pull the plug. That said, they were all reasonably priced and therefore represent a good value for Texas wines.

In Summary

Overall, our visit was outstanding. As I said, Sauvignon Blanc was excellent and great value. If you buy three bottles of wine, two of your tastings are free. So, it is no brainer to walk away with three bottles of your favorite in lieu of paying for the tastings. That, my friend, is great value and a reason for you to visit Adelphos Cellars when you are in the Lubbock area.
