William Chris Vineyards is one of the premier vineyards in the Texas Hill Country. Their reach is expansive, including ownership in Lost Draw Cellars and Uplift Vineyards. Over the past year or so, they have rolled out additional tasting options they term “experiences”. Thus far, there are Vineyard Table Experience, Sparkling Saber Experience, and the Cellar Experience. We recently reviewed the Cellar Experience, and in this post, we will review the Vineyard Table Experience.
The Vineyard Table Experience is offered in the winery’s Library Room and is an elevated wine tasting experience consisting of seasonal food & wine pairings. During the tasting, you will be taken through five wines paired with custom culinary creations allowing you to compare the wine before and after bites for a memorable and educational experience. During our sitting, we probably tasted at least seven wines for a variety of reasons. All were excellent, and our hostess was not shy with the pours.
Our Wine Ambassador led us through a wine tasting journey. If you attend, you may or may not get the same food and wine as we did, as the menu is completely seasonal, and the wines are carefully selected to match the food pairings, or possibly in some cases vice versa. Here is the menu we had.
When I made the reservation, I let them know my wife has several food “no no’s” and allergies, and was afraid that might lessen her ability to participate. I was completely wrong! At the start of the session, they let us know that had her covered, and explained what they would be bringing her. Her experience was no less than any of the others and we were both seriously impressed at their attention to each person in the experience.
I won’t spoil the details of the tastings themselves, but I will say it was a fabulous experience and I recommend you give it a try. A great value and discount if you are a wine club member, but even if you are not, it is still a great experience and worth the money!
