Texas Wine and Wineries shone brightly at the prestigious 2024 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, particularly those awarded “Best of Class” and the coveted “Double Gold” medals. These vineyards have undoubtedly raised the Lone Star State’s winemaking profile.
Best of Class
While there was several Texas Wines awarded Best of Class, Haak Vineyards of Santa Fe, Texas was the only one with two awards: their 2022 Gewürztraminer and their 2023 White Native American / Hybrid.
Kudos to the other ten wineries who received a best-in-class award, including English Newsome of Lubbock, TX, Spicewood Vineyards in Spicewood, TX, and Eden Hill Vineyard in Celina, TX.
Double Gold Delights
Texas Wineries received over 20 Double Gold medals. Here are a few highlighted ones:
- Adega Vinho Chardonnay 2022: This wine stood out with its robust flavor and exceptional balance, a true testament to Texas’s potential in producing world-class whites.
- Augusta Vin Winery Albarino 2022: With its crisp and refreshing taste, it was a clear judges’ favorite.
