My Wine Pick

History and Facility

The Bingham family has deep roots in Texas agriculture, transitioning into viticulture to produce award-winning wines.

Their facilities include a state-of-the-art winery and welcoming tasting rooms across Texas, where visitors can experience the warmth of Texan hospitality and the depth of their wine craftsmanship. Their website has a really interesting family history dating back to 1901, including vintage photographs. I recommend you check it out here.

The facility in Hye is fairly new and is being leased from a previous wine producer. They will be building a new wine tasting room in the near future.

The Wines

Here is where I outlined the results of my personal wine tasting, including occasionally thoughts of others who attended the tasting with me. There are two tasting options at Bingham Family Vineyards: Red Wine Tasting and White Wine Tasting. Both are $25 for five wines. I went with both. This is a small group of the nearly 45 different wines they offer.

Memorable Wines: 2019 Dirt Farmer, 2020 Reserve Teroldego

Good, But Not Memorable Wines: 2019 Mourvèdre, 2019 Dolcetto, 2019 Merlot, 2022 Cloudburst (white blend), 2021 Albarino, 2021 Roussanne, 2021 Marsanne

Not Good Wines: Luckily none ended up in this category!

Other Wines They Produce: This is a small group of the nearly 45 different wines they offer. Many of these wines won a Silver Medal and above at the 2024 Houston Rodeo International Wine Competition.

Wine Club

Their wine club offers a personalized experience, allowing members to choose their preferred wines and delivery frequency, along with exclusive access to limited editions and special events.

This wine club is a little different, as the number of bottles is the same (4 per shipment), but you can choose the frequency, getting wine ever month, 2 months, 3 months, or 4 months). Members get a 10%, discount on wines. and complimentary tastings with a guest.
