Introduction

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Signor Vineyards, one of the most beautiful Texas wineries nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country. As someone who has explored countless Texas wine destinations, I was excited to see what made this winery stand out and let me tell you – I was absolutely blown away.

What Makes This Place Different?

Unlike many other Texas wineries, Signor offers not just beautiful wine but a truly immersive experience. As I wandered through the immaculately manicured gardens, I felt like I had been transported to another world. The vineyard’s scenic views of rolling hills and grapevines made it the perfect escape from everyday life.

My Wine Pick

While several of Signor Vineyards wines are delicious, there were two that stood out to me: 2022 Sauvignon Blanc ($45) and the 2021 Mozzafiato ($50). The Sauvignon Blanc is a Texas wine made from grapes from the Texas High Plains. The Mozzafiato is a red blend with grapes from Rogue Valley, OR.

History and Facility

The story behind Signor Vineyards is one of love, tradition, and family, making it all the more special. The vineyard is a collaboration between the Signor and Weisinger families, both with deep roots in winemaking and farming. Their combined expertise shines through in the high quality of their wines and the care they put into every bottle.

Meta View

The facilities at Signor Vineyards are equally stunning. The tasting room is beautifully appointed with rustic elegance, blending modern comforts with old-world charm. You can choose to enjoy your wine indoors or take in the views from their spacious outdoor seating areas. I opted to sit under the sprawling oak trees, savoring my wine as I admired the stunning landscape – a peaceful oasis in the Texas Hill Country.

Signor Vineyards is one of the most beautiful vineyards in the hill country. The planting and landscaping is amazing, so you’ll want to visit during a good weather day so you can sit outside and enjoy your wine in these beautiful surroundings.

In addition to the tasting room, there is Joanna’s Market, a cute little shop that also sells fresh sandwiches and sides among other things. The grounds outside Joanna’s are also gorgeous.

The Wines

For guests, there are multiple tasting options. First is a Patio tasting, where you can sit in the beautiful patio area and order charcuterie boards at an extra cost. Second is a bar-side tasting, where you can stand at one of the beautiful tasting bars. There is also an option for elevated tastings (5 wines). The patio and bar tastings offer 4 wines and are $30 and $25 respectively.

Note that most of the wines at Signor Vineyards are sourced from grapes grown in Oregon, not Texas. So, for the most part, you won’t be tasting Texas wines.

Memorable Wine(s): Sauvignon Blanc, Mozzafiato

Good, But Not Memorable Wine(s): 2020 Estate Tannat, 2020 Pinot Noir, 2021 Malbec, 2023 Rose’ of Grenache

Not So Good Wine(s): Did not taste any in this category.

Other Wines

One current issue at Signor is their onsite vines. Sprawling over 20 acres, the vines were recently removed and replanted, meaning it will be a while before they are producing any additional estate (ie. Texas) wine from this location. You see the results of this on the menu where most of the estate wines are sold out (but they are also all wine club exclusives wines).

There are still a handful of additional wines, as Signor produces what appears to be less than 20 wines, and even less with the estate options on hold. There are only 3 white, 2 rose’, and 4 reds currently available to non-club members.

Wine Club

One of the best ways to stay connected with Signor Vineyards is by joining their Wine Club. Members enjoy exclusive access to limited-edition releases, discounts on wines, and invitations to private events. Being part of their Wine Club feels like you’re part of an extended family, and it’s the perfect way to continue enjoying the exceptional wines they craft even after your visit.

The Signor Vineyards’ Wine Club is very consistent with other wine clubs where you can sign up for different levels and receive wine every quarter. The three levels at Signor are: Town and Country (White/Rose), Signature (Red), and Ranch Select (Red/White/Rose). Within each of these options, you can sign up for 3, 6, or 9-bottles per shipment. Shipments at the three bottle levels offer 10%, 15%, and 20% discounts respectively, which is average for a wine club. There is also a 10% discount at Joanna’s Market, the winery’s food outlet. The clubs offer two complimentary tastings or glasses at each visit and access to members’ only private lounge.

Conclusion

In my experience, Signor Vineyards stands out as a beautiful winery in the Texas Hill Country that has one foot in Oregon and one foot in Texas. With their stunning location, exquisite wines, and welcoming atmosphere, this winery provides the perfect Texas Hill Country escape. Whether you’re a fan of whites, reds, or anything in between, you’ll find a wine to fall in love with here. I can’t recommend this hidden gem enough!

Ok, to go along with your amazing Signor Vineyards wine, you need to complete the experience with the appropriate glasses and accessories. Don’t diminish your experience! Check out some great options in the Liquid Lonestar Marketplace!
