What Makes This Place Different?

The feeling of simplicity, seclusion and serenity overlooking the Texas Hill Country’s beauty makes this destination uniquely different.

My Wine Pick

The 2019 Tempranillo was undoubtedly my favorite.

History and Facility

Nestled atop a hill in the Texas Hill Country, this facility is a part of the estate of Becky and Robert. The tasting room opened in the spring of 2023, so at the time of this review is just passed its one-year anniversary. the one building for the public which opened is the tasting room, which is filled with charm and space, and many of Becky’s paintings.

This is not the first winery I’ve reviewed where one of the owners is also a wonderful artist! The winery is currently open Friday – Sunday, but there are apparently some plans to expand the open times to include Thursday as well. There is usually live music available on Saturdays.

While there is plenty of space indoors, there is a moderate amount of space outdoors where you can really enjoy the views and the serenity of place. According to the website, there are plans to enhance the outdoor space and do the first estate vine planting, which will really make the outdoor ambiance “pop”.

The Wines

Being a winery only open a little more than a year, the overall wine options (9 in total) are not significant, but what they do have available will undoubtedly offer you a great experience. Almost all are 2019 vintages, and all are 100% Texas Wine. The wines are very competitively priced between $25 and $40 (my favorite Tempranillo is only $35).

Memorable Wine(s): 2019 Tempranillo, 2019 Bonitas

Good, But Not Memorable Wine(s): Pic Poul Blanc, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Malbec

Not So Good Wine(s): They were all very nice!

Other Wines

There are a few other wines I didn’t taste, which were Rose’s and a Muscat.

Wine Club

The Wine Club is very basic, offering 3, 6, and 12 bottle options, receiving them every quarter. Discounts on wine are 15%, 20%, and 25% for the three levels, which is a great discount. Members can choose their wines each quarter which is a great feature of the club, and receive complimentary glasses of wine with each visit, including one guest (more at higher levels).

Conclusion

In conclusion, Crown Hill Winery stands as a testament to the dedication and passion of its owners, who have beautifully married their corporate acumen with a love for winemaking. The winery not only offers an impressive selection of wines but also provides a tranquil escape with its stunning panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country. Whether you’re a seasoned wine aficionado or a newcomer eager to explore, Crown Hill Winery offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s sure to leave a lasting impression. This charming winery is undoubtedly a delightful addition to the region’s vibrant wine scene.

Ok, to go along with your amazing Crown Hill Winery wine, you need to complete the experience with the appropriate glasses and accessories. Don’t diminish your experience! Check out some great options in the Liquid Lonestar Marketplace!
